Winners
Liam Pruitt
The GIMPDFA's most successful manager adds 3 trophies to his already impressive haul, bringing his career total to 6 (3 league titles, 2 club cups, 1 international cup). Dominance indeed, especially when you consider the league's second most successful manager, Ingoglia, holds only 1 trophy (club cup), and finished well below par this season.
Liverpool FC
To say Liverpool mustered anything more than a leisurely stroll to the DFA double may well be an understatement. In the league, 19 points (22 after sanctions) separate them from the nearest competitor in the table, and their goal differential clocks in at a bonkers +41. Their trek to the DFA Cup saw them go 5-1-1, with a +18 GD. They claim the League's top performer, top scorer, top goalkeeper, and 6/11 players in the Team of the Season.
AS Roma
An impressive inaugural season for the Romans. Comfortably in second place, and one of only 2 teams to boast a positive goal differential (their free-scoring offense being one of the reasons for only two teams to have accomplished such), they will definitely be listed among the favorites to bring home silverware next season. Now, if only their manager can keep his cool (and his finger off the power button) when things don't go as planned.
Francesco Totti
Fernando Torres may have taken the plaudits, but with over 50% of Roma's goals, Totti takes the publicity. Not since Zyssis Vryzas has a player's scoring run attracted such attention (and venom) from the opposition. Who can forget the terrace song penned just for the Italian:
"One man on-ly scores,
on-ly scores for Roma.
One greaseball named Fran-ces-co
on-ly scores for Roma."
Adam Tindle
Universally written off in pre-season, the Manchester United boss shocked everyone by finishing in the top half of the table. Naysayers and critics will tell you, however, that his success was down to squad strength and not managerial skill. Here's hoping that the Arsenal rumors are true, as he has been linked with the north London job as of late, so we can see what he can truly do.
Losers
Chelsea
So much hype, so little follow-through. A pre-season suggestion of a 5th place finish for the Pensioners would have drawn much skepticism from your audience. Halfway through, things looked a bit more plausible. By season's end the Blues were lucky to achieve that. Mustering only 4 wins must surely be seen as a gross underachievement, especially given the air of superiority that the nuveau riche club seems to promote. 4-9-2 & -6 GD didn't win many fans to the bridge, and neither did it add much credibility to their "sexy football" claims.
England
Hands down the most disrespectful and disgraceful treatment of a competitive event in not only GIMP history but the global history of competition as a whole. Nothing more nor less can be said pertaining to their abhorrent actions.
"Sir" David Burns
The common thread between the previous two entries. Every story needs a villain, just as every football league needs a wind-up merchant. His words/actions, in spite of abysmal on field performance, proved to be more comedic relief than mind games. Case and point: given his less than noble on and off-field conduct, his self-given nickname "Sir" David could not have struck a more ironic chord.
AC Milan
Under the leadership of GIMP's second most prolific manager, one would have expected more out of Milan this season. 4th is by no means a catastrophe, an impressive final 3rd ensured such a finish, but Ingoglia will undoubtedly be disappointed. He has said he will be on another club's sideline next season. Only time will tell.
