Here are a few gems that I found perusing the ol' spreadsheet of last season. They didn't make the final cut for the season wrap-up but make for entertaining reading nonetheless. Especially the bit about how rubbish Burns' attitude is.
League:
Liverpool = 14 wins
Man U + Milan + Chelsea = 14 wins.
Only 2 teams (Liverpool, Roma) managed a positive goal differential.
Of Roma's 47 goals, Totti netted 25 of them. That's a massive 53%. The next closest Roma scorer had a relatively paltry 9 goals, 16 fewer than Totti.
There were 204 goals scored last season. Top scorers, Liverpool accounted for 28% of them.
Chelsea = 12 bookings
Man U + Milan + Roma = 12 bookings
33 cards were shown in total. Chelsea saw 36% of them. That means they received a booking every 112 minutes played. Compare that to the season's cleanest side; Liverpool, who were only booked every 1,350 minutes.
International:
Of the 21 cards shown in the international tournament, England-who only managed to play 4 games- accounted for 90% of them. They saw 12 yellows and an outrageous 7 reds. That translates to a booking every 17 minutes.
