Ireland Re-Group, Humble Holland

It seems Holland's finest cannot even best Ireland's bench...

Fair do's to the Irish, they shrugged off the scathing criticism that followed their petulant displays and (with 5 starters suspended) made short work of an extremely talented Dutch side. The result speaks volumes about both nations, and for some gives them hope that managers who follow their hearts can still succeed amongst the more success-hungry gaffers in the DFA.

The post-mordem on Holland; however, is much more grim. It seems that if Ireland's ressies cannot provide points, then surely they're doomed to another group stage exit.

The feel good factor is coming back to Dublin. Let's hope they can keep the positive momentum. These pages love to champion an underdog, especially one with a bit of loyalty.
