Preliminary Administrative Duties

On the eve of the FIFA 12 Demo release, the time has come to start sorting out the start to our Fall 2011 season.

1. Date of Community Shield - The Community Shield match is the traditional curtain raiser to any GIMP season, and Premier League matches may begin immediately following. FIFA 12 will be available 27 September, and the selected start date should provide adequate time to acclimate to the new software.
     
       Start Date:
              a. 10 October, 2011 (13 Days since release)
              b. 17 October, 2011 (20 Days since release)
              c. 24 October, 2011 (27 Days since release)
              d. (write-in ballot)

2. Community Shield Participants - Due to the disgraceful finish to the previous season, no League nor DFA Cup champion (the Sanctioned Community Shield participants) was crowned. Who shall play in their stead to kick off this season?

       Community Shield Participants (Please vote for two):
              a. Liverpool (Top of the league table on GD at time of stopping; in DFA Cup final; in Champions Cup final; managed by Int'l Cup champion; Community Shield winner)
              b. Chelsea (3rd in league table on GD; in Champions Cup semifinal; in DFA Cup final)
              c. Ingoglia (2nd in league table on GD; League Cup winner)
              d. Ingoglia v Chelsea one leg playoff to determine who plays Liverpool

    And a point of clarification...as League Cup winner, would Ingo have normally played in the Shield? Or is that overall League champion?

    How about a pre-season round robin tournament between Burns, Ian and Ingo for the other community shield spot...

    DFA Cup winner plays the League Champ, Cush. The league cup is the lesser cup competition. Thompson wasn't really in with a shout of the league or the DFA Cup so I think the one game playoff between Burns and Ingo would be the most appropriate option.

    Thompson and Tindle will play a two leg playoff for the 4th Champions Cup spot as well.
