Liverpool Claim Community Shield Number Six

Coutinho shines in Liverpool's opening day victory

 Liverpool's unbeaten Community Shield run continues following their opening day thrashing of a hapless Chelsea. The Reds ran out 5-1 winners, and looked a much better side than their preseason form has suggested. Liverpool has never lost a Community Shield, and Sunday's four-goal margin of victory was their largest to date.

Post game, Liverpool's manager, L. Pruitt, downplayed his side's achievement:

"Of course it is nice to start the season off with a win and a trophy, but in the grand scheme of things today's result counts for relatively little. Given this club's DFA history, we are setting our sights on greater things this year. The biggest benefit is the confidence boost that comes from soundly outplaying such a highly-ranked opponent. The brain trust at EA may not give us much respect, but every match day is an opportunity to prove them wrong."
