After such a fast and exciting start to the 2009 GIMP football season, the league h
as come screeching to a grinding halt. Several managers and their unexplainable clog fetish (not the wood shoes) have done nothing but bog the league down. Content to wallow in current clog, managers continue to fail to play games despite known "built in excuses" on the horizon (exams, Thanksgiving, ect.). The last 2 weeks of the season have caused frustration and distress among the GIMP purists. After witnessing several instances in which managers have outright refused to play matches, despite having no logical reason, it was time to remind everyone of our commitment to the league. Bargain basement reality TV shows aren't an excuse to miss a game and people refusing to respond to texts or phone calls is an absolute shame. 1-2 hours a week is all the league requires. Surely we all can find 1- 2 spare hours through the week to play the matches we've all signed up for. Louis (former bottler) has been played all his matches despite having no Internet at his house. A man who has to go to a friends house to play has more matches played then people that have Xbox live right at their fingertips. From now on lets try to be a little bit more accountable and get our matches in as scheduled. It doesn't take much effort to look on the blog for the fixture list, send a text to a friend and play the match.
Well said. Long live the purists! Bottlers sack up or sod off!
ReplyDeleteI have had nothing but logical reasons. Rules that are established are to be followed until they are thrown down by the GIMP office, not before they are officially thrown down.
ReplyDeleteLong live Greece!!!!!! Long live GIMP!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIncrow, you've played 5 in the league. You're obviously committed. No worries there.
