In a cracking semifinal, 180 minutes have seen Roma back on the path they began the previous season. Some managers (o.k., just one) in a misguided haze of jealousy, have derided the new competition, claiming that it lacks competitive flair. They only need to look at the exciting display that took place last night.
Roma have reached the first ever final of the GIMP Champions Cup on the back of last season's Roman hero/plan a-z, Franceso Totti. After a stuttering start to the season, Totti scored 100% of Roma's goals (5) against Spurs in the semifinals.
After looking unlikely to land any silverware this season, Roma are in great shape to bring home the big pot in the Champions Cup, but they will have to clear one final hurdle, a high flying Liverpool squad.
Already securing the first ever League Cup, and mathematically landing the league title, Liverpool are looking to improve upon their double-winning season last term. The final promises to be an exciting affair indeed.
