The DFA Fall 2020 Season - Opening Day Headlines - LFC Maul CFC 9-0, Burns Melts Down...

Petulant Tantrums Mar GIMP Competition

Not since "Sir" Burns' violent best has the DFA been subject to such offensive behavior. Just days apart, two managers have accumulated 17 bookings (including 7 red cards) in their last 180 minutes of football. Barcelona ended their DFA Cup run in fine form, losing 8-0 at the hands of FC Bayern; all the while collecting 8 cards, and consequently losing Ibrahimovic and Henry for their next league match (v Roma).

Not to be outdone by their similarly star-studded brethren, Spain crashed out of the International Cup in disgraceful fashion. After going behind early, it was apparent that there was simply no fight back on the cards, just petulance. 9 bookings and 5 sending offs later, the DFA has yet another smudge on its record.

If this is lack of discipline is some kind of flattering, hyper-competitive, attitude towards the DFA, it has a funny way of manifesting. Exasperating the margin of defeat, and trying to belittle a loss through bookings and own goals, is not competitive, it is cowardice. When the two strongest squads (fact) decide to self-destruct, it speaks volumes about the attitude of the manager, and their respect for the sanctity of the DFA.
