Chelsea lose 3 more to injury

Chelsea defeated Barcelona 3-2 Tuesday night but lost three more players to injury in the process. Juan Mata put the Blues in front in the 9th minute after a clever lay off from"EA Darling", Eden Hazard.  Two minutes later, Mata got what was coming to him and was brought done in the midfield by a horrendous challenge. Luckily for Chelsea, the little Spaniard was able to shake off the knock and found himself on the score sheet again just after halftime when Victor Valdes spilled a Hazard shot across the face of the goal.  Despite being outclassed at every turn, including being held to only one attempt on goal for the first 55 minutes, Barcelona managed to equalize in the 78th minute following two accidental goals.  With an EA screw job almost complete, the Blues turned once again to the POY candidate to rescue what they clearly deserved. Mata found himself on the end of a Lampard through ball, beat Puyol with his first touch and fired into the back of the net to give Chelsea the lead again in the 92nd minute.

"Mata was superb" said Burns. "He has become one of the world's most influential players on the ball and it showed tonight. Tonight's performance definitely put him in the same conversation as Suarez for player of the year."

With the three injuries tonight, Chelsea have seen seven players hurt over their last four games. "As one of the few that actually rotates his squad it's very frustrating to be the one effected the most with the new injury rules. It's hard to tell if they just don't know how to tackle or can't controll themselves after conceded a goal. It was obvious that Mata was hurt on purpose tonight and quite frankly it's disgusting."
