Palermo Manager Canned

As of 4:15pm est today March 7th, former professional baseball player turned football manager, Chris Ingoglia, was released of his duties as manager of the Palermo football club out of the Serie A.  The decision came from ownership after questionable tatics were used in Italians most recent match against Liverpool FC which resulted in a 4-1 loss.

Inside sources report that Ingoglia's use of an aggressive 4-4-2 formation as oppose to the early season use of a 5-5-0 was inexplainable and poorly designed.  A draw would have pushed Palermo onto the next stage of the Champions Cup, knocking out Liverpool, a strong favorite.  However, the clear tatic to win the game instead of play for the point ended up being Palermo's clear path to an exit from moving on in the tournament.

There has yet to be a response from Ingoglia on the recent firing.  His agent has stated that he will not be holding a press conference and does not plan to comment on the subject.

Where he will be next season is as good as anyone's guess.
