GIMP Constitution

Because we have not finished a season in 8 years, and certain people are threatening to break DFA rules (whilst simultaneously breaking them in preseason), let us have a look upon our founding document.

Please place any proposed amendments in the comments below.

---

We the founders of the GIMP Digital Football Association, in order to create a community based upon healthy competition, do ordain and establish this Constitution to be considered binding to all participants of the GIMP Digital Football Association.

Section I: Ideology

1. It is the ultimate responsibility of all acting members of the GIMP Association to uphold the tenets upon which this association was founded.

2. These tenets are: Fairness, Friendship, and Enjoyment.

a. First and foremost, this is a league bound by fair competition. Any attempt to jeopardize the integrity of this competition will be severely punished.

b. No one is larger than the league. The association is a community and cannot exist without cooperation. Individual success is secondary to our collective efforts and friendships.

c. This grand occasion is meant to compliment your existence, not define it. One should never lose their sense of perspective in the pursuit of DFA glory.

Section II: Administrative Protocol

1. All authority related to creation and implementation of new rules and regulations is to be shared among the current acting members of the GIMP Association.

2. All administrative decisions will be made solely to improve the state of competition and fairness within the association.

3. When reaching a decision, all acting members will be surveyed for their opinions on the matter.

4. If a reasonable amount of time has passed and all active members cannot be contacted, the available members may make a decision.

5. In the event of a stalemate, the decision will be made by the senior members of the association based upon their respective GIMP Coefficients.

  1. Before the season starts i'd like for each team to confirm their keeper's kit colors. This will be helpful when determining which kit to where against each opponent.

  2. Have we ever thought about buying into the league so we can have a small payout structure? Something small and similar to fantasy football.

I know there are going to be some challenges with this. But it may be something worth trying to talk through.

    Challenges I see:
    1. $20-$50 buy in would be hard to split among all competitions.
    2. Buy-ins greater than $50 would be a wild investment for those (me and cush) who have no chance of winning.
    3. Not sure if everyone's (not really everyone but I'm saying that so no one feels singled out) wives would approve of "gambling" leading to some (one person) having to pay in gift cards or money orders which would be difficult to split up if their are multiple winners that need to be paid out.

    1. I like the idea of prize money attached to winning trophies.

I just hope the added stress doesn’t drive anyone to anger. Ive heard some heated friendlies on the mic recently - and that’s just during a practice game with no consequences.

  3. Is there any way to request a formal accounting of the bookkeeper‘s data? I hear there have been numerous discrepancies relating to data input that may have resulted in unearned and unsubstantiated accolades.
