The DFA Fall 2020 Season - Opening Day Headlines - LFC Maul CFC 9-0, Burns Melts Down...

Best of Blog (Part 1)

As the years have passed, these pages have been graced with some of the most outrageous things ever posted on the Internet (thank god we deleted that Tindle scat fetish porn). To celebrate the league's (and the blog's) Lazarus-like rebirth, let's have a stumble down memory lane, shall we...?

"A Double for Sir David?"

30 Jan 2009 - The signs of delusion started very early indeed. The laughable amount of self-esteem it takes to "knight" yourself aside, bold (and horribly misguided) predictions have become a hallmark of Mr. Burns' online decorum. A quick jaunt to the records page will show that his pick for champions (himself, shockingly enough) finished second from bottom, and his player of the year choice (Joe Cole, less shocking/more vomit-inducing - Westboro Baptist Church hates you by the way) was overwhelmingly outplayed by 98% of the 65 other first team regulars who featured. He would have gotten the International Champion right, if only "Geramany" were involved.

"GIMP Look-a-Likes"

5 Feb 2009 - Simple but effective, and worth another giggle surely. Sparked several addendums, namely "GIMP Look-a-Like" (6 Feb 09), "Roengardner!" (7 Feb 09), "Commish is that you?" (7 Feb 09), and "More GIMP Look-a-likes" (7 Feb 09). Simpler times, indeed.

"Season End Winners and Losers Section"

23 April 2009 - A charming time capsule of our first season in the "modern" era of the DFA. As you can see, some things never change.

"Who is Who?"

5 October 2009 - Epic only for the response triggered, no one could have foreseen the 24 comments of vitriol that would spew forth following this little wind-up. Makes for entertaining reading...the comments, that is. The post is quite rubbish really.

"Manager's Diary - Critt Edition"

22 December 2009 - A glimpse at what Mr. Burns' posts could be if he ever kicked that wind-up fetish of his. A shame that the series never continued.

"Top DFA Blunders of 09/10"

19 February 2010 - "There is something to be said for failure, for it is far more interesting than success." Never are those words of wisdom more applicable than in the DFA. Have a glance at some of '09-'10's more entertaining cock ups.

Part 2 to follow...probably

  5. They were one of the best teams ever assembled. I had only been playing WE9 for a few days before the league started. I needed them to only lose by 5
