The DFA Fall 2020 Season - Opening Day Headlines - LFC Maul CFC 9-0, Burns Melts Down...

26 August 2010

Who are ya?

Who is your real life counter part? Take a look and see...

Liam Pruitt / Jose Mourinho
League Titles, Domestic Cups and now a Champions Cup to boot, sounds like the special one to me. Not only does his on the field success match up well with the former Chelsea gaffer, but his way with words in the media is all to familiar as well. They way he is able to manipulate his fellow managers and stir up controversy with such class and ease is what pushes him more towards Mourinho than Pep Guardiola.

David Burns/ Sven Goran Eriksson
Ah-Well...Semi-successful, shows clear cut favoritism to certain players and is absolutely undressed by the media. Burns most resembles the Swede for these very reasons. Joe Cole and Lampard are Burns' Beckham and Pruitt is Burns' English media. The way he treats some players is nauseating and the way he is constantly poked at in blog posts that aren't even related to him ("Gentlemen...and Burns) is why he's our Sven.

Ian Thompson/ Guus Hiddink

Following in the shoes of our "special one" must be hard but Ian has showed a tremendous amount of poise after taking over one of the GIMP's most successful clubs. Like Guus Hiddink, Ian followed up the departure of his club's most successful manager with a solid performance and an DFA Cup victory. Perhaps if he can do one better this season and win the league we can call him our little (6 foot 9) Carlo.

Aaron Crittenden/ Rafa Benitez

Poop in the league but brilliant in the Champions League. The resemblance to Rafa in this sense is uncanny (not that the tummy isn't either). With one Champions Cup title and another final's appearance, Roma fans can only hope that Critt will now veer off the eerily similar path of Rafa before its too late. We wouldn't want to see Critt crash and burn out in the group stages now would we?

Chris Ingoglia/ Harry Redknapp

The only thing separating these two as managers is the Cockney accent and multiple chins of Mr. Redknapp. This one practically writes itself. Less club loyalty than an American Manchester United fan; check. Lead one club to glory, then sod off to competitor; check. Unhealthy obsession with turning former players into current ones; check. Fancies himself a "wheeler-dealer" in the [fantasy football] transfer market; check. Never afraid to manage one club (AC Milan/Portsmouth) then f*ck off to their arch nemesis (Inter Milan/Southampton), and then return once more to the previous rival as if nothing happened; check.
What will the future hold for the DFA manager with more clubs than Chi Chi Rodriguez? You can bet it'll controversial.

Adam Tindle/ Tony Pulis & Arsene Wenger

Complains like Wenger and manages his side like Pulis. Long ball after long ball and glitch goals are were the key to "success" for Tindle last season. His managing style of anti-football is indenticle to that of Mr. Pulis and his constant bickering and complaining is that of our French friend Arsene Wenger. Tindle has been slowly improving in the off-season and is planning to have the success of Wenger while still whining and moaning like him.

Brett Muprhy/ Manuel Pellegrini

Both managers had the privileged of managing what should be over powering squads (Barca & Real Madrid). Neither manager however, have seemed to realize their clubs full potential.
