Six goals inspired by a classy display by German captain, Michael Ballack were more than enough to see off a resilient but ultimately overmatched Argentinian squad. Lionel Messi opened the scoring for the South Americans but was cancelled out by a brilliant 23 yard strike by Ballack. Mario Gomez put the Germans ahead for the first time but parity was restored by Sergio Aguero shortly after.Ballack stepped up yet again and laced another brillant long range strike into the top left corner, this time from 25 yards. The lead was never again relinquished. Two more goals from Gomez and one from Miroslav Klose gave the Germans the breathing space they needed to cruise comfortably into the final.
Germany will meet the winner of Italy and Spain at Wembly Stadium in London, England at a date and time to be announced later (don't hold your breath, yeah?).
Regardless of their opponent, German confidence will be high, as manager Liam Pruitt looks to land his first trophy of the season.
Pruitt was quoted post game: "Massive amounts of respect for both sides [Italy & Spain], They are both top quality squads, with quality managers. The final will be a definite nail biter. To win it, all mistakes must be eliminated. It'll be a treat for the neutrals, for sure...just not for me."
