Opening day is upon us gentlemen. Allow me to regale you with one man's humble opinions.
LFC v Milan
A statement game. A good start is not crucial to win the league but a poor one is certainly a detriment. If anything, opening results are most instrumental in determining a participants confidence as he begins his campaign, an aspect that cannot be overlooked. Friendlies are over and while they are the basis of the following odds they now mean nothing where it truly counts.
Prediction: 3-1
Torres & Kaka to score
Man U v Barca
An interesting match in that most do not know how to rate these two competitors. United's anonymity in the pre-season friendly circuit has left little clues as to what to expect, other than to expect the worst. Look for sheer roster talent to level the playing field a bit but the Catalan side's massive star power to eventually overcome.
Prediction: Barca leave it late, but win 0-1
Chelsea v Roma
Consistency and confidene are in short supply at Stamford Bridge and look for the shaky results to continue at home. Roma has had CFC's number in preseason and I see no reason why that should change, especially after Chelsea's dismal real-life performance on Sunday.
Prediction: 4-2
