Totti- A god amongst strikers

Totti went on a scoring rampage tonight against Barcelona, scoring five.

Some managers are starting to quip about the amount of talent and success that Totti has. Dave Burns, the manager of Chelsea, has been quoted saying "If Totti tries that stunt against us, John Terry will wear that red card as long as Totti's knees are destroyed." Some might find this kind of talk offensive, but we have all come to expect that from the brass and unpolished manager of the Blues.

What was surprising were the comments made by Liverpool's manager, William Pruitt. He expressed deep concern about the play of Totti, even suggesting that he should not play. This coming after a lovely talk that Crittenden and Pruitt had about the role of Totti. Liam is on record saying that "He does the job that is assigned to him. That is what he is up there for. To score goals." The turncoat quickly changed his mind about the Italian superstar. My guess is that he did not like the fact the Totti passed two of Liverpool's players on the Top Scorer list (Gerrard and Torres).

Crittenden was caught after the match saying "Totti is a genius out on the pitch. He is truly gifted. Any manager who could have the pleasure of overseeing a player who can consistently go out and score goals, day-in and day-out, would not be complaining at all. The naysayers in this league are just upset that the likes of Drogba, Gerrard, or Rooney will not or cannot play at the level of intensity that our Totti has. It truly is a shame that the managers in this league, most of witch are respectful and kind, cannot just be happy for the native Roman."
